Motivation
I noticed that many bloggers write their posts in multiple languages. Sometimes, this means they have the same idea written in different languages, which can be confusing.
I realized that if I want people from all over the world to read and understand my blog posts, it would be better for me to write them in one language only - English. This way, everyone can easily access and engage with my content, without any confusion or limitations.
Why Not Use Multiple Languages?
Avoid duplicating content by writing in multiple languages. This approach can lead to inconsistencies and wasted effort, as well as making it harder for readers to find and engage with your work.
Imagine publishing the same blog post in multiple languages, only to have each version contain slight variations or inaccuracies. This not only wastes time but also dilutes the quality of your content.
Why English
English is widely spoken and easily understood worldwide. It’s also well-structured and predictable, making it a great choice for communication across cultures.
With English as your primary language, you can:
- Reach a global audience, including people in Asia, Africa, Europe, and beyond
- Connect with readers who may not speak other languages or prefer to read in English
- Use a standardized vocabulary and grammar that’s widely understood
Why Not Chinese/Japanese …etc
Language differences can make it hard to connect with people from other places. But English helps us reach out to the world.
Let’s consider Chinese and other languages:
- Chinese grammar is not as clear, making it hard to express ideas.
- The government has a significant influence on how Chinese is used, creating problems through overly complicated vocabulary and confusing rules.
- Other Asian languages like Japanese often have too much extra information, making it difficult to understand what’s really important.
For instance, the government creates new words everyday that confuse people, pollutes language by giving them negative meanings, and even hides forbidden words, making it hard for people to express themselves clearly and logically in their mother tongue. They even make textbooks overly complicated, making self-learning nearly impossible.
In reality, all this eventually makes language harder to communicate.
When you write in English, you can:
- Use language freely, without government control.
- force yourself to express and think logically and accurately
- consume more high-quality content that inspires and educates you
- share your thoughts with people from different cultures, breaking down language barriers and fostering global understanding

Don’t Let Fear Hold You Back
For too long, my fear of making mistakes held me back from expressing myself in English. The thought of people - especially those in Asia (and elsewhere) - chuckling at my imperfections was daunting!
However, I’ve come to realize that perfection is not a prerequisite for using English. Everyone makes mistakes when speaking or writing in a language, even native speakers.
What matters most is the effort I put into communicating my ideas and connecting with readers. And that’s exactly what I’ll do - write in English to learn, improve, and grow alongside you.
Conclusion
In conclusion, writing in English first can help bridge language barriers and facilitate global understanding. By adopting this approach, you can reach a wider audience, improve your writing skills, and become part of a community that shares a common language. So, what are you waiting for? Start thinking in English today and unlock the full potential of your writing!
